The forerunner of INUPLAN A/S was founded in 1947 as a private company in the basement of Gunnar P. Rosendahl. In connection with Greenland’s transition from colony to an integrated part of Denmark, Gunnar P. Rosendahl was involved in establishing the Greenlandic Technical Organisation (GTO). That is why he gave the company to the J.K Nielsen and the K. Rauschenberger, who in 1956 formed the Nielsen & Rauschenberger A/S. And so the first engineering office in Nuuk was built by Nielsen & Rauschenberger A/S in 1963.
In 1979 Home Rule was introduced and as part of the development N&R Ingenørit A/S was created as a daughter company registered in Greenland but it was still owned 100 % by Nielsen & Rauschenberger A/S.
In 1990 Nielsen & Rauschenberger, which was now named N&R Consult A/S, wished to resign from Greenland. In that connection the employees were offered to take over the company and they subsequently bought the stocks over a number of years.
Later on N&R Consult A/S changed name to NIRAS and in 1999 they sold their last stocks to N&R Ingeniørit A/S’ employees and instead made another Greenlandic registered company, NIRAS Greenland A/S. In the meantime the now 100 % locally owned company N&R Ingeniørit A/S changed name to INUPLAN A/S.
Finally in 2004 INUPLAN A/S built a brand new office building in Nuuk because the old head office, which originated from 1963 was too small for the fast growing company. The same reason lied behind the extension of the office in Qaqortoq, which was extended in 2007.
